Bay now 1-0, Keystone goes to 0-1.

The Varsity game was sluggish in the beginning, with the Rockets notably struggling with penalties and momentum throughout the first half.  In fact, all of Bay’s 27 points came after half time, as the game was tied 0-0 at half.

Bay’s quarterback, Logan LeMere (‘20), threw for 51 yards and the backfield, lead by Andrew Veverka (‘19), contributed 248 rushing yards, putting up a total of 299 offensive yards.  The Rocket’s offense was 5/9 on 3rd downs attempts. Notable players include; Joe Galati (‘20), Francis Sherman (‘19), and Andrew Veverka (‘19).

The Rocket’s defense had 2 interceptions, one resulting in a touchdown from Keegan Kevesdy (‘19), the other was returned by Jared Riess (‘19) and then lead to Victory formation, ending the game.

Cullen Gergye (’21) returns a scooped fumble for a TD

Bay’s JV team beat Keystone’s JV, 16-38 in their first game of the season.  Notable players include; Luke Herbuck (‘20), Connor Starowesky (‘20), Cullen Gergye (‘21), Hudson Cisneros (‘21), and Jay Reinhart (‘22).

Bay is now set to face the University School Preppers this Friday, 8/31, at Bay Memorial Stadium at 7pm. This is the first home game of the 2018 season, as well as the first game on the new astroturf at Bay Memorial Stadium.  The JV/Reserves will travel to Chagrin Falls on Thursday night for their game at 5pm.
